Conservation in Action!
Our motto provides only a hint of what we are. Our primary goal is to facilitate
marine related activity while supporting national, state and local conservation
efforts. Established in 1999 as a service to dredge companies to provide observers
in support of hopper dredge operations, REMSAs Marine Endangered Species
Observer (MESO) program has evolved rapidly. Using existing and new academic and professional
skills developed by our observers, we have expanded our program to provide endangered species monitoring
and conservation services for all marine species impacted by any marine related
activity. Some of these services include:
Endangered species monitoring
Sea turtle abundance and relocation trawling
Sea turtle nest monitoring
Underwater biological surveys and assessments
Surf Clam & Ocean Quahog at-sea shucking monitoring
Fisheries sampling
Dredge disposal monitoring
